Wix offers a merchant in Israel ten payment providers (PayPal, Max by Hyp, Isracard, PayPlus, Bit, Meshulam, Pelecard, Tranzila, Cal and iCredit) and a merchant in the Palestinian Territories none: that entry reads 'N/A'. This is not a regional pattern. Jordan is offered PayPal, Paymentwall and FasterPay; Egypt PayPal, Kashier, Paymentwall and Skrill; Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Tunisia PayPal and Paymentwall. Wix tells customers that 'it is not possible to export blog posts to other platforms', and suggests sharing the posts on social media instead. Content held in a Wix CMS collection can be exported as a CSV file, and portfolio items cannot be exported at all. A Wix site is rebuilt elsewhere rather than transferred.

Wix bars users in Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba, Crimea and the self-declared Donetsk and Luhansk republics from registering or using 'any of Wix's services including Wix sites', and applies substantial limitations to the Russian Federation, citing sanctions administered by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control. Palestine, Gaza and the West Bank are absent from that list, so the sanctions Wix cites do not account for the payments gap on its country page.

Wix took USD 563 million of revenue in the second quarter of 2026, up 15%, on bookings of USD 569 million, up 12%. Revenue from Partners, the agencies and freelancers who build client sites on Wix Studio, grew 17%, faster than the core business, and is reported as a separate line. The company reiterated full year guidance after the workforce reduction of about 20% announced in May 2026, and booked USD 27.1 million of restructuring and related costs in the quarter.

Wix cut 1,000 jobs in May 2026, about 20% of a workforce of 5,277 at the end of the first quarter. The majority of its teams are in Israel with shekel-denominated costs while its revenue is primarily dollar-denominated, and the shekel had risen nearly 30% against the dollar over the preceding year, to a 33-year peak. Chief executive Avishai Abrahami said the shekel's rise was creating 'structural pressure on our ability to operate at our current scale', Reuters reported.

Wix employed 5,277 people at the end of March 2026, more than 60% of them in Israel, and confirmed that it was cutting 20% of that workforce. Avishai Abrahami told staff the company needed to become 'a faster, leaner, and flatter organization', citing shekel appreciation against a dollar revenue base and a shift to what he called AI-native ways of working.

7amleh, the Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media, a Palestinian digital rights organisation, found that Palestinians face 'structural barriers that restrict their participation in the digital economy' across around thirty digital services: exclusion from PayPal and Payoneer while Israeli citizens keep access, West Bank networks held at 3G and Gaza at 2G against Israeli 4G and 5G, and service privileges for settlements. The report names PayPal, Payoneer, Amazon, eBay, Upwork and Fiverr. It does not name Wix.

Wix files with the US Securities and Exchange Commission as a foreign private issuer because it is incorporated in Israel, and groups its principal risk factors around that fact: military service obligations on its personnel, local tax benefits, the effects of war in the region, and the difficulty of enforcing a United States judgment against it in Israel. Advertising cost USD 243.6 million, 12% of revenues, up from USD 175.6 million in 2024. Earlier filings disclosed that fewer than 5% of the workforce are military reservists and that its infrastructure and internal networks are cloud-based, outside Israel.

Wix took USD 1.99 billion of revenue in 2025, up 13%, on bookings of USD 2.07 billion, with GAAP net income of USD 50.6 million and free cash flow of USD 573.0 million. It had more than 304 million registered users at 31 December 2025, and reported Base44, the Israeli startup it bought in June 2025, at USD 100 million of annual recurring revenue. Durable Capital Partners led a USD 250 million private placement. Wix guides to mid-teens percentage growth in bookings and revenue for 2026.

The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory concludes that Israeli authorities and Israeli security forces 'have committed and are continuing to commit' acts of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, and that Israel bears responsibility for failing to prevent it, for committing it, and for failing to punish it. The analysis covers Gaza over the period 7 October 2023 to 31 July 2025.

Wix bought Base44, an Israeli artificial intelligence startup, for about USD 80 million in cash with earn-out payments running to 2029. Maor Shlomo had founded it roughly six months earlier and ran it as a sole-shareholder company with fewer than ten employees; it had reached 250,000 users before the sale. By the fourth quarter of 2025 Wix reported the unit at USD 100 million of annual recurring revenue.

Wix took USD 1.761 billion of revenue in 2024, up 13%, with net income of USD 138 million.

AGSEM, the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill University in Montreal, completed its migration off Wix in December 2024. The union had resolved in October 2023 to boycott Israeli products and services, moving away from website and email servers 'hosted by a company that benefits from the occupation of Palestinian land', and its general assembly formally approved the move in November 2024.

Wix unfairly dismissed Courtney Carey, Ireland's Workplace Relations Commission (the state body that adjudicates employment claims) held on 31 July 2024, awarding her EUR 35,000 under the Unfair Dismissals Act 1977. Wix conceded that the dismissal was procedurally unfair: she was dismissed by telephone, was not invited to a disciplinary meeting, was not told of any right of appeal, and no investigation was documented. It argued instead that compensation should be confined to actual financial loss. Carey had earned EUR 40,000 a year, was unemployed for 26 weeks and then took lower-paid work. Wix was ordered to pay EUR 35,000 in compensation for the dismissal of its Dublin employee, which the Workplace Relations Commission found procedurally unfair.

Wix's president Nir Zohar defended the dismissal in public, saying that for Israelis 'to be called terrorists by someone they perceive as a teammate' is 'unfathomable, unexplainable and unacceptable', and that the posts threatened the connection between the Dublin office, then about 500 staff, and their Israeli colleagues. Courtney Carey, 26, a customer care team leader there, had posted on LinkedIn calling Israel a 'terrorist state' and expressing solidarity 'with the Palestinian people against the Israeli apartheid'. She was dismissed with immediate effect.

In messages leaked to Jack Power of The Irish Times, Wix ran an internal Slack channel in October 2023 titled 'supporting Israel narrative', which invited employees to 'join a company initiative to create videos and creative campaigns' and to 'make an impact on global perception'. One message advised staff to emphasise, in texts and images, that 'unlike the Gazans, we look and live like Europeans or Americans'; another advised against discussing casualty numbers. Wix did not respond to requests for comment.

Wix dismissed a Dublin employee in October 2023 over LinkedIn posts that called Israel a 'terrorist state' and criticised the bombing of Gaza. Ireland's Taoiseach and Tánaiste, the head of government and his deputy, both condemned the decision.

Wix published a 'Stand with Israel' app for websites and built more than 180 war-related advocacy sites through its wix4swordsofiron.com initiative, launched within days of October 2023.

Wix carries the 'Stand with Israel' app in its own App Market, the company's curated catalogue of add-ons, on its own storefront alongside its commercial integrations rather than among user-generated content. It built and supported more than 180 war-related websites in the same period, many of them listed on wix4swordsofiron.com, a site Wix itself launched within days of October 2023.

Rashida Tlaib's congressional website was built on Wix, which the Jerusalem Post reported in February 2019 as a contradiction with her support for boycott, divestment and sanctions.
