For Israel it lists ten: PayPal, Max by Hyp, Isracard, PayPlus, Bit, Meshulam, Pelecard, Tranzila, Cal and iCredit. For the Palestinian Territories it lists 'N/A'. Neighbouring entries show this is not a regional pattern: Jordan is offered PayPal, Paymentwall and FasterPay; Egypt PayPal, Kashier, Paymentwall and Skrill; Saudi Arabia, Morocco and Tunisia PayPal and Paymentwall. Wix's own answer to customers who want to leave: 'Currently, it is not possible to export blog posts to other platforms.' The page suggests sharing posts on social media instead. Content held in a Wix CMS collection can be exported as a CSV file, and portfolio items cannot be exported at all. This is the practical friction in any migration: alternatives are plentiful, but a Wix site is rebuilt rather than transferred.

Wix's published account restrictions, which it attributes to sanctions administered by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control. Users in Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba, Crimea and the self-declared Donetsk and Luhansk republics 'cannot register or use any of Wix's services including Wix sites', and substantial limitations apply to the Russian Federation. Neither Palestine, Gaza nor the West Bank appears on this list: the payments gap recorded elsewhere is a product decision, not a sanctions one.

The most recent trading statement. Second quarter revenue of USD 563 million, up 15%, and bookings of USD 569 million, up 12%. Revenue from Partners, the agencies and freelancers building client sites on Wix Studio, grew 17%, faster than the core business, and is reported as a separate line. The company reiterated full year guidance following the workforce reduction of about 20% announced in May 2026, and booked USD 27.1 million of restructuring and related costs in the quarter.

The clearest published statement of how Wix's economics tie to Israel, reported by Steven Scheer. Wix cut 1,000 jobs, about 20% of a workforce of 5,277 at the end of the first quarter of 2026. The majority of its teams are in Israel with shekel-denominated costs while its revenue is primarily dollar-denominated, and the shekel had risen nearly 30% against the dollar over the preceding year to a 33-year peak. Chief executive Avishai Abrahami: 'This creates a structural pressure on our ability to operate at our current scale.'

Confirms the workforce split. Wix employed 5,277 people at the end of March 2026, more than 60% of them in Israel. Avishai Abrahami told staff the company needed to become 'a faster, leaner, and flatter organization', citing shekel appreciation against a dollar revenue base and a shift to what he called AI-native ways of working.

7amleh, the Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media, a Palestinian digital rights organisation, examined around thirty major digital services and found that Palestinians face 'structural barriers that restrict their participation in the digital economy', produced by the interaction of technology companies' policies with Israeli control of infrastructure. It records that Palestinians are excluded from PayPal and Payoneer while Israeli citizens retain access, that West Bank networks are held at 3G and Gaza at 2G while Israeli networks run 4G and 5G, and that settlements receive service privileges Palestinians are denied. It calls on global technology companies to end discriminatory service policies and to expand Palestinian access to digital payments. The report names PayPal, Payoneer, Amazon, eBay, Upwork and Fiverr; it does not name Wix.

The company's own primary filing, made with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on 5 March 2026. Wix files as a foreign private issuer because it is incorporated in Israel. Its risk factors are grouped around that fact: the obligations of personnel to perform military service, the availability of local tax benefits, the effects of war and hostilities in the region, and the difficulty of enforcing a United States judgment against the company in Israel. It records 54,989,523 ordinary shares outstanding at 31 December 2025, USD 1.65 billion of liquid assets, USD 1.15 billion of convertible senior notes due 2030, and advertising expenses of USD 243.6 million, 12% of revenues, up from USD 175.6 million in 2024. Earlier filings disclosed that fewer than 5% of the workforce are military reservists and that Wix's infrastructure and internal networks are cloud-based and located outside Israel.

Full year 2025 revenue of USD 1.99 billion, up 13%; bookings of USD 2.07 billion; GAAP net income of USD 50.6 million; free cash flow of USD 573.0 million; more than 304 million registered users at 31 December 2025. Base44, the Israeli startup Wix bought in June 2025, is reported to have reached USD 100 million of annual recurring revenue. Durable Capital Partners led a USD 250 million private placement. Guidance for 2026 is mid-teens percentage growth in both bookings and revenue.

The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory concludes that Israeli authorities and security forces 'have committed and are continuing to commit' acts of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, and that Israel bears responsibility for the failure to prevent genocide, the commission of genocide and the failure to punish it (A/HRC/60/CRP.3). The analysis covers Gaza between 7 October 2023 and 31 July 2025.

Wix's announcement of its purchase of Base44, an Israeli artificial intelligence startup founded by Maor Shlomo roughly six months earlier and run as a sole-shareholder company with fewer than ten employees. Initial consideration was about USD 80 million in cash, with earn-out payments running to 2029. Base44 had reached 250,000 users before the sale. Capital recycled into the Israeli technology economy, and by the fourth quarter of 2025 Wix reported the unit at USD 100 million of annual recurring revenue.

The clearest documented instance of an organisation leaving the platform. AGSEM, the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill University in Montreal, adopted a resolution in October 2023 to 'take tangible steps to boycott Israeli products and services, such as by transitioning away from website and email servers hosted by a company that benefits from the occupation of Palestinian land'. The general assembly formally approved the move in November 2024 and the migration to a new website was completed in December 2024. The precedent a union branch, student society or charity can copy.

The decision itself, summarised by Legal Island. The Workplace Relations Commission is the Irish state body that adjudicates employment claims. It found the dismissal unfair under the Unfair Dismissals Act 1977 and awarded EUR 35,000. Wix conceded that the dismissal was procedurally unfair (the complainant was dismissed by telephone, was not invited to a disciplinary meeting, was not told of any right of appeal, and no investigation was documented) and argued instead that compensation should be confined to actual financial loss. The complainant had earned EUR 40,000 a year, was unemployed for 26 weeks and then took lower-paid work. Decision published 31 July 2024.

Wix's own public justification, made at the time. Courtney Carey, 26, a customer care team leader in the Dublin office, posted on LinkedIn calling Israel a 'terrorist state' and expressing solidarity 'with the Palestinian people against the Israeli apartheid'. She was dismissed with immediate effect. Wix's president Nir Zohar said that 'for all the Israelis to be called terrorists by someone they perceive as a teammate and a colleague is unfathomable, unexplainable and unacceptable', and said the posts threatened the connection between the Dublin office, then about 500 staff, and their Israeli colleagues.

The strongest documented instance of Wix acting as a company rather than hosting what its customers publish. Jack Power reported on leaked messages from an internal Slack channel titled 'supporting Israel narrative', which invited employees to 'join a company initiative to create videos and creative campaigns' and to 'make an impact on global perception'. One message advised that 'unlike the Gazans, we look and live like Europeans or Americans' and that it was 'very important to emphasise this in texts and images'. Staff were also advised against discussing casualty numbers. Wix did not respond to the paper's requests for comment on the messages.

The app as published in Wix's own App Market, which is the company's curated catalogue of add-ons rather than user-generated content. The listing places the app on Wix's own storefront alongside its commercial integrations. Wix built and supported more than 180 war-related websites in the same period, many of them listed on wix4swordsofiron.com, a site Wix itself launched within days of October 2023.
